Device/Slot in 2013 Tucson center console

I just purchased a Tucson limited yesterday, and in the front of the center console storage bin there is a slot (not sure what else to call it) that looks like almost like a slot to plug in a device. I can't find any information in the owner's manual or via a web search. Would someone enlighten me on what this thing is?

I'm going to assume that since you have a Limited, it has push-button start where you don't need to insert the key. You just need the key-fob on you, correct?

If so, I'd suggest reading your owners manual. Specifically page 5-12:

It's a port to put the smart key in case the battery in the fob dies so you can start your car.

mystery solved

Thanks for providing the info and photo. The dealer didn't show me this feature, so I tried searching the owner's manual index, assuming the answer would be located in the section for the center console. That's a pretty cool feature.

Yeah, that's the last thing you want to happen, the battery in the fob dies and you can't start the car.

Things like smart keys are great but they do cause new problems such as that.

Here's another problem I read about in a car magazine:
A woman drivers her car with her husband as the passenger. They arrive at a mall or some other store and the husband suggests he'll take the car to go get gas while the wife shops. The wife gets out without shutting the car off and the husband gets in to drive to the gas station. The husband goes to the gas station shuts off the car and pumps the gas. He goes to leave the station and can't start the car because the smart key is in the wife's purse.
