Hi All,

We have a 2017 Tucson base model. It's been a real champ all these years. In 2019, we moved overseas and shipped the car. When we received our car at the destination, there were no problems. When we returned to the US in 2021, the drivers side window would not open. While trying to get an appointment with the dealer to trouble shoot the problem, we took it to a very reputable and recommended tint shop to get new tint. I happened to mention to the tech the problem with the window, he responded that he's seen this before and could probably fix it. Next day we picked up the car and he stated that it happens to some cars when they sit for months at a time without being used and in this case, our car sat for almost 3months during the entire shipping process. He only charged us for the tint and said its a simple fix, but I never found out what he did to fix it. Fast forward almost 3 years later we moved from the US back overseas (now 2024), when we received our car after again being idle for so many months we were not terribly surprised to find the same problem has occurred with this same driver's side window.

Please note:

1. I have already checked the fuses.
2. All other windows work fine, indicating its most likely not the window relay (it appears to be soldered to the board btw)
3. I have tried the trick of holding up the window switch for several seconds to "reset" it. Again, just an idea floated on the Internet.
4. This car is 7 years old with 59K + miles on it. Not driven too much and so not very much stress on the said Window.

Hoping someone out there has seen this. Maybe there was a simple trick that unfreezes the motor (He said the motor gets "frozen" no temp wise, of course). Thanks in advance
