Gas Cap/Evaporative Emission

Gas Cap/Evaporative Emission
I have a 2005 Tucson and next Monday I am taking it in to the dealer for the 6th time since Februarybecause of a check engine light. Every time it has come up as a code for a "major evaporative emission" which all but one time has translated as loose gas cap. Just curious if anyone else was experiencing thisand what the solution was, as well asif anyone had any tips for how to deal with the service department that I feel I'm getting a total run around from. Thanks.

RE: Gas Cap/Evaporative Emission
This may be a stupid question but I have to ask. Are you making sure the gas cap is tight? It must click at least 3 times when you tighten it. My mother-in-law has the same problem with her 2003 Accent. Every time she got gas the CEL would light. I made her aware of clicking the cap 3 times and the problem went away. If you are doing that them my guess is the cap isn't sealing correctly.

RE: Gas Cap/Evaporative Emission
I have a 2006 Sonata, 4 cylinder and the CEL is on ever since I obtained a locking gas cap. I drive 60 miles a day to and from a park/ride but my gas has been getting stolen/ripped off.
I follow the instructions on the $15 dollar locking fuel cap but the CEL stays on. So I guess what I am saying is that I feel for ya
