looking for opinions on 17' 1.6t DCT
hello,
I've found a 2017 Tucson limited with the dct. I've read all the issues people have had. this current vehicle has 6k miles and is still new, sat in a garage for the past two years. drove the vehicle and could see what people meant by the transmission. I was testing to see if I could get the transmission to perform badly and overall it felt fine.
Im curious to hear some opinions on whether anyone thinks its worth it or not. vehicle might be priced around $14k, has a big dent in the back hatch but otherwise is in good shape. I'm wondering if i should take the time to continue talking with the private party, take the car for a day or so and do a ppi and get quotes to repair body damage.
anyone who ones one with the DCT that would recommend the engine and transmission? I've always used manual transmissions and didn't mind how the dct felt. saw someone on the road the other day who had the 1.6t and asked how she liked it and she said she likes the vehicle and how it drives, hasn't had any problems. She said it was a 19' but i thought they stopped the 1.6t after 18' but i may be wrong or she may have the year confused.
would be great to hear what some people think, vehile would be for my mom in her 60s, so the gear hunting 1-3rd and lacking acceleration would be an issue, which I would test thoroughly and have my mom drive before purchasing.
Also this vehicle will probably only ever be driven 3-5k miles a year
Thank you!
Andrew

My 2016 DCT has big issues. Biggest is that it seems to go into neutral at the worst times. Hyundai says tough cookies--the car has more than 60K miles. Maybe with less miles, they will honor the warrantee. To me, they said, in effect, buy a new transmission or be gone.
