Question 2006 Tucson 2.7 V6 Coolant recovery tank hose

Hi there. Just bought this thing a week ago. Last 2 days noticed antifreeze leaking under the car. My son who is replacing the rotors, brake pads and outer sway bars told me he doesn't see any leaks from the water pump. He thinks that the coolant recovery tank hose is what is doing that. It isn't attached to anything, just hanging there. Is this normal? I have never had a car do this, ever. Also, if my water pump is starting to go out, is it a really hard fix since it is also attached to the timing belt? I swear if I would have had him with me when I was looking for a car, I would be in something else. But, that is water under the bridge now and I just have to continue to repair and repair until I get it where it needs to be. Winning lotto numbers anyone?

I can give you last weeks winning lotto numbers
But it won't do you any good

Radiator has a hose that goes to the over flow tank
Is this the one that is hanging?

its a white hose that is hanging down on the left side. My son is trying to convince me that it’s an overflow hose and all cars have it. I haven’t ever seen that

Some vehicles do have the overflow hose to relieve excessive pressure and expansion if the system is overfilled.
It is in effect a safety feature because if excessive pressure were to build up in the cooling system, defective head gasket for example, the coolant recovery bottle would burst .so instead the excess goes out the overflow. Mind you the radiator cap keeps tabs on all this when working properly.
