Off Road Tire Reccomendation
I have a 2017 Tuscon and have had great success with the factory tires but 52,000 and a change in locale have me in need of some off-road tires for gravel and potentially this winter. Just wondering what brands you all recommend and what brands to stay away from. Thank you for any information you can provide.
Something for FYI,
Aggressive tires are great in snow, but can provide a noisier ride and don't usually last as long since there is less rubber to support the vehicle.when rolling on paved roads. Most aggressive tires are constructed to dislodge stones lodged in the tread. Regular maintenance like keeping tires to the recommended pressure and careful driving can contribute to longevity of the tires. Different people have different driving habits and that can influence how long the tires last and perform.. Hi speed on turns can greatly reduce the life on any good tire.
Depending on where you drive regular snow tires are better in snow than multi purpose tires ,but are the roads plowed before you head out, or not ,depth of the snow all get into the picture. 4Wheel drive is definitely a must in deep snow and again depending on conditions , chains may be required if icy conditions are present. 4Wheel drive will get you started in snow, but does nothing to help you stop .Driving habits help there
.I don't recommend any particular brand of tire , but you might check with a local shop that sells and installs tires where you reside. That way if there are any problems you don't have far to go for assistance if required.. They should be better able to tell you what works best there.
