Over feuling
2006 2.7v6 Tucson; this vehicle is 1 day short of me setting it alight. I have been told to replace the TPS which I did, and the vehicle started and ran for about a day. Then all the same trouble started over. Over feuling, worsened every day until now it will not fire up and if it does it will not run smoothly, black smoke emmitted from the exhaust and promptly cuts out and will not restart. I have exhausted diagnistics. The result "TPS" sensor fault. Attempting a startup, backfires through the inlet.... does somebody somewhere know what is causing this? And how to perminantly fix it???
Most pressure regulators are controlled by vacuum so that when vacuum drops due to demand for more fuel, the pressure increases. If the diaphram in the regulator is ruptured, it can be pulling in gasoline all the time. Remove hose , if gas comes out, replace regulator.
If the timing belt is worn and timing was allowed to change it can affect engine operation.
Take things one at a time. If you replace a defective regulator ,just maybe performance and mileage will increase. Belts are a REGULAR maintenance item. The kicker is , if it breaks while engine is running , much $$$ develops wings..
