Are you having a mechanic do this work
Or, are you doing your own work?

If you are doing your own work then replacing a head gasket would mean
You know something about working with cars and/or engines
So you should be able to figure this out
If you are having a mechanic do this work then they should be able to figure this out.

How do you know the water pump and cooling fan are okay?
What checks have you made?

Check the radiator for coolant level?
Check the coolant, while it reached operating temperature, radiator shows coolant flow?
Check the top and bottom radiator hose for temperature?
Check to see fan turn on when coolant reaches normal operating temperature?

All else fails, replace radiator and thermostat ... lol

Remember no one can see what is going on with your car but you.
Forums are just full of educated guesses.
It is up to you to do your own investigating
