Power Increase 2016 Tucson
 

Iam an owner of a 2016 Hyundai Tucson limited 1.6 turbo
Even thought the 2016 Hyundai Tucson has the same Gama turbo engine as the veloster turbo it only have 175 Horsepower. The veloster turbo has 201.


I would like to know if I can increase the horsepower and how.

It probably has to do with the way it's rated. In the Veloster, it's 201 @ 6000-rpm while in the Tucson, it's 275 @ 5500-rpm. So there are probably about the same as the both have the same torque. Also, the Veloster and Tucson engine bays are different so the intake and exhaust may be slightly more restrictive in the Tucson because of how it's packaged. Plus, I'm sure the Tucson has a much quieter exhaust.

My advice, install a larger, less restrictive exhaust and add a cold-air intake.

You can drop in a K&N air filter (and don't over oil it), Or an AEM dry filter. A complete cold air intake system is not really needed, since the HP increase will be very minimal for the price and hassle. ALSO if you want a little increase in HP and some rumble, have a Magnaflow muffler installed to replace the large muffler. It can be done all on the right rear of the suv. Want even more rumble??? Remove the exhaust expansion chamber after the cat converter, and replace with same size straight pipe. That plus the Magnaflow will growl. You'll have some "drone" sounds when accelerating for certain, but you may like it!
