Purge Control Valve
My check engine light came on a few days ago and I made an appointment with Hyundai to have it checked. I was lead to believe that the problem would be under warranty.....NOT TO BE.
I have a 2007 Tucson with only 47,000 miles and the diagnosis proved to be a Purge Control Valve part # 28910-22040. The dealer wants $240.00 to do the work!! I found the same part for less than $30.00. So, my question, is this something that can be replaced by someone who is pretty mechanical? Where is the PCV located on the 2.0L engine? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, LJ |

NovaResource, thanks for all the information. I only expected the warranty coverage because of the conversation with the Hyundai service rep I talked to on the phone.
I don't have the error code, but that is what the Service Rep told me and the Invoice (I had a recall preformed on the car) had the part# 28910-22040 listed as part needed. Thanks again for your help. |
