Rear hatch remote lock not working

Tucson 2008 model, Rear hatch/glass lock not locking/unlocking when using remote key fob, having to use manual key to lock the rear hatch, however all other doors lock/unlock using the fob with no problem, appreciate any help

You need to check the actuator and any associated cables for binding

Ok Thanks, I'll have a look at those parts.

It looks like you may need one of the following parts 81290-2E020 (BELL CRANK ASSEMBLY - TAILGATE made by Hyundai. #812902E020), 81230-2E010 (LATCH ASSEMBLY - TAIL GATE made by Hyundai. #812302E010), or 87130-2E000 (LATCH ASSEMBLY - TAIL GATE GLASS made by Hyundai. #871302E000). I would suggest a diagnosis before buying anything. Have a good one!

If it only works with the Door Lock button (On door) I would say, Bad remote. If it doesn't work at all, Most likely the Actuator. Have someone sit in the back and listen for the click of the Actuator.

Thanks guys appreciate your help, sounds like it could be actuator then as both key fobs don't operate it, I'll take a further look at it, cheers

I have a 2012 Accent that has done the same thing from brand new, but I can hear the actuator click when I press the button - just doesn’t actually lock the hatch, so would this be a lock issue you reckon?

I had a similar problem with the rear hatch not locking, turned out to be the wiring harness damaged leading from the tailgate to the body where the hinge is, might be worth checking out.
