Hi my problem is when reversing while turning there is a loud knocking/ strange noise coming from front left hand side. It doesn't do it going forward only in reverse and anything more than quarter turn on steering wheel. The strut bearing has been replaced.

Not knowing all the specifics of your vehicle, but if it is front wheel drive have someone check out the CV joints on both front axles.

 

It's the 4wd xenith. It's got me baffled because it'll only do it in reverse turning in one direction. Going forward turning any direction is OK.

 

The test of CV joints is done in reverse , so your vehicle is telling you something is worn.
