Windshield for 2019 Tucson on backorder with no ETA
 

I bought a 2019 Tucson and had it for 3 days before a rock hit the windshield and made a huge crack that grew all the way across the glass in a matter of hours. I scheduled an appointment with Safelite to replace the windshield a few days later. The day before the appointment, Safelite cancelled and told me that the windshield was on backorder and that they have no idea when the new shipment of windshields will come in. It has been 7 weeks now and still no word. Safelite, the insurance company nor the local dealerships have any idea when they will receive the glass. The only thing they have told me is that it could take up to a year to get the replacement.

I am so frustrated and have no idea what to think. I bought a brand new car and have been driving it around since day three with a broken windshield. Has any else experienced a long wait time for a part on a new Tucson? I would appreciate any thoughts or advice.

Just because Safelite can't get a windshield doesn't mean one isn't available.

Try other glass replacement places, they might have connections and be able to locate one and install it .

Sometimes some dealership parts dept are too busy to try locating a windshield and prefer to just wait. Call around to some other dealerships , it just might be worth the trouble.
