Vehicle info: 2007 Veracruz 3.8 V6 Non-power liftgate
Problem: The button on the oustide won't activate the latch to open the liftgate unless it is open or closed just to the first safety lock. I replaced the latch today thinking that would fix it, but no such luck. While the liftgate is open and you push the button, it makes the sound to undo the latch. And if you take a screwdriverand push the latch closed to the first click it also opens, but as soon as you push it all the way to the fully closed position, the button goes dead and nothing happens.
