2013 Veracruz Discontinued?

The October 2012 issue of Consumer Reports in an article about Cars - New for 2013 - lists the Hyundai Veracruz as Discontinued.

Is this true? If so, what will happen to the resale value, parts availability, insurance premiums and this forum ?

Yes, the Veracruz is dead. It's being replaced by an expanded Santa Fe line that will now include a long wheelbase version with 3 rows of seats. Read more:

Discontinuing the model does nothing for resale or insurance. It's no different than when a completely redesigned model comes out. For example, the new Tucson has virtually nothing in common with the old Tucson model.

Parts will still be available. Generally, car companies produce parts for 15-20 years after a model is discontinued.

And this forum is going nowhere. As long as there are still Veracruz owners, this forum will still exist.

However, this is a great time to get an awesome deal on a leftover Veracruz. It's still an excellent vehicle.
