armrest removal
 

i bought a 08 veracruz and love it except for the broken latch on the front console armrest rattling,,i ordered and received the new latch from hyundai,but now need to install it,,,,does anybody know exactly how to take this armrest apart for latch removal ?? any help much appreciated :confused:

ARMREST REPLACEMENT
1.Remove the storage box (A).

2.Remove the rear console cover (A).

3.After loosening the armrest mounting screws, remove the armrest (A).

4.Installation is the reverse of removal.

The latch on part # 8 recently broke on our '07 'Cruz. How did you go about disassembling the cover & replacing the latch?

I have an 08 VC and have the exact same problem... I have the new part but now I need to disassemble the armrest to replace just the latch. How did you end up doing it? Thanks.

I changed mine out and if I remember right I took a butter knife along the edge of the top padded console to unlock the tabs that hold the top on and then you can get right at the screws that hold the latch.

I just completed this job on my wife's Veracruz. To remove the armrest you will need to:

1. Remove lower console tray. To do this first remove rubber piece in bottom of tray, then pry out plastic cooling vent piece. After you have removed rubber and plastic pieces, remove two phillips screws at bottom of tray. You now can carefully pry the tray out.

2. Remove rear center console control panel. To do this first you will need to remove the two phillips screws located at the top right and left of control panel. Look at the rear of where you just removed the lower console tray. Once these are removed you can carefully pry off the rear panel. Be carefull of the 3 wire connectors behind the panel. There are 3 tabs with clips pere side. Now remove 2 10mm bolts and 2 nuts holding the armrest assembly. Install in reverse order.
