Engine replaced now spedometer and odometer don't work
We jsut had the engine replaced in our XG300. When we picked the car up this morning we noticed that the spedometer and odometer are both not working. The engine work was not done at the dealership because of the cost savings.
Should the two instruments be replaced when an engine is replaced or does this mean that the mechanic didn't do something properly? They were both working fine prior to the car going into the mechanic.

They probably missed reconnecting an electrical connector. Return the car and have them fix it right. After such a major job they should have taken it for a test drive to make sure everything was working properly; shame on them.
