funny sounds

i have a 2002 hyundai xg350 w about 90k miles on it. a couple weeks ago i started noticing a stranger chirping/squeaking noise coming from the engine. upon popping the hood i noticed it was coming from the left side of the engine, down by a large belt ( not sure if the noise is coming from the belt itself or not). anyway, this noise occurs right when i turn the car on and persists for a short while then seems to fade away when the car gets warmed up. the noise can be heard when idling and seems to increase while i accelerate.

not sure if it matters, but i got my timing belt changed about a month ago

Ok, did you have new drive belts installed when the thing was being put back together ????

Old belts get hard, hard rubber has no grip..

New belt,,, then tighten it... I take and scuff the surface of the 2 idle pulleys for the alt-a/c belt to get rid of the polished glaze from the old belt running on them.

There is 2 drive belts on the 3.5 :

1 --> P/S

2 --> Alt - A/C

well the noise has gotten quite a bit louder and no longer goes away after i start driving. is this any indicator as to what exactlyyy is up with my car?

The AC belt has an idler that gets noisy when it’s loose and it gets hot when it’s too tight. Does the noise change with ac on and off?
