HELP At wits end and ready to pull my locs out!!!
Two weeks ago I was driving my Mom's car and her check engine light came on. She owns a 2002 Hyundai XG350L and I took it to be diagnosed and two codes came up. The codes were P0350 and P1193. I looked up what the codes meant and the first one was Ignition Coil Malfunction which to me sounds like something that the dealer should fix for free, and the other one was for Post-Catalyst Fuel trim system bank2. I'm wondering if the second one is related to the fuel tank recall on it which I found out about on the Government recall site. HELP ME PLEASE!!! Anyone who can I don't want my mom shelling out uber amounts of money she doesn't have. Maybe a Hyundai tech will see this and help me out. The check engine light has been coming on off and on. There are also times when we are driving the car will chug along making a rattling sound going up a hill. WHAT THE WORLD is that about??? Please help me save my beautiful locs and not pull them out (LOL):rolleyes:

I think you misread one of the codes. P0350 is for "Ignition Coil Primary / Secondary Circuit Malfunction" but the P1193 just means "ETS Limp Home Valve ON Low RPM". That's probably on because the coil is malfunctioning.
The P0350 could be a problem with the harness and/or connector; a bad connection between PCM and spark plugs; or a bad ignition system. I'd check all the connections to the coil packs and the plugs. How many miles are on the car? Have the plugs ever been changed? Is you mom the original owner? If not, the warranty is over and the dealer won't fix it for free. |
0350 = coil secondary problem
1193 = limp home, should have been accompanied by a 1191 too in most cases Had XG last week with same codes, installed (3) coils for large burn spot on winding body (grey/white burn mark), and cleaned throttle body and flush IAC ports with solvent... The above repair was warranty on the coils as customer had HPP Plan, the throttle clean was customer pay. Car needed plugs and wires, they declined.... oh well, not my problem now, it documented on ticket and invoice, customer signed invoice when they picked up car.. |
