Throttle peddel position sensor - I think
 

My 05 XG 350 has an intermittent problemwith the throttle. It has thrown the check engine light a few times and I wasable to reset it. I was in a hurry so I didn't take time to write the code downbut remembered that it said something about the throttle position sensor. Ichecked on-line and found that my Hyundai has two - one the TPS on the throttlebody and the other attached to the peddle, so I decided to wait until I couldget the code and hopefully figure out which one to replace.

The other day it happens and this time the car went into limp mode (thethrottle would not work) so I checked the code before resetting. The code wasP0224 Throttle/pedal sensor switch B intermittent so I am guessing that it isnot the one on the throttle body. :confused:

I think part # 35357-3B011 is for code P0224 but am not sure. :confused:

I don’t want to spend $120 –$140 and getthe wrong one if I can get by with part #502-0011 for under $90

Can someone guide me to the right part number and/or a linkto the right one?:rolleyes:

The pedal sensor is a common problem with XG's. I can't guarantee that's the issue without testing the one in your car now but it's usually that one.

Thanks, My scanner comes up with P0224 and says intermittent APS signal.
I do a reset and everything is Ok for a few days.

I finally decided to get the APS thru EBay from a Hyundai dealer in the state of Washington for $117 plus about $12 shipping... Far less than I could get it anywhere else.
Now all I need is a few days of above zero weather and some time to see if it works.

If it doesn't I'll just continue to use the old reliable 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with 240,000 miles that has never had the spark plugs or wires replaced.
Ya I know not a wise move with the Dodge but it still starts easily and gets good mileage.
