Timing Belt

I have a 2005 with 93,000 miles on it. Runs great, is clean. Only issue is the radio will come on by itself. The dealership is suggesting that the timing belt be changed soon. Would it be time? Only thing is......we can't afford it. Really, I had no business buying this car if I can't take care of it. :( I've worked on my older cars quite a bit. So, how hard is it to change the timing belt? I'm wondering if I can do it myself. How long can the current belt last? The good news is that I have a beat up old '94 Ranger that I can drive and keep the miles off the XG350 in the mean time.
Sorry to go on, just frustrated with myself........... Scott

Timing belt on a 3.5 is not for the beginner..

About a 5hr labor ticket + parts (t-belt, 2 drive belts, hydraulic tensioner)

I was looking at a Gates catalog and it doesn't list a Timing Belt for the 2005. It only goes up to 2004. Do they not stock it? Did Hyundai change to a Timing Chain?
Sorry for the questions. Just don't know what to do and am trying to figure out a solution to this. Thanks!

2004 and 2005 3.5 timing belt is same part, as is the 3.5 in the Santa Fe up to 2006, and the Kia Sedona 3.5 to 2005 and Kia Amanti..

Cruise your local Hyundai or Kia dealer and grab you a belt.. dont forget the 2 drive belts and tensioner.
