I'm in the process of removing my water pump but can't get it to clear the engine mount studs The pulley seems to be hitting It and won't let the pump slide out. I double checked to make sure all the bolts were loose. The pump is loose and moves but I can't get it out far enough to remove. Anything else I should do to give me more room???? Thanks.

 

Most cars require putting a big piece of wood under the oil pan and jacking the engine a little while taking out the motor mount.
After that, the engine can be lifted slightly to aid in taking the water pump out.
