Exclamation 09 Hyundai Santa Fe - Cranks/Intermittent No Start (Burnt Fuel Pump connections)

I have a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7L V6 that has had all the "infamous" issue with the purge valve, fuel sender sensors, limp mode and cylinder 1 miss fire.
I have now been having issues with it cranking but will not start or stalling while driving. It started as an intermittent problem and progressed to the point that it would not start at all. After banging on the gas tank It started and shut off again after a few minutes. I pulled the "rear" drivers side seat out to access the Fuel Pump and to my surprise the connector on the fuel pump and the wire connector were burnt up. The connection on the pump is so bad that it burnt a hole directly through the pump exposing a hole to the gas tank.

The attached pictures showing the burnt connection on the fuel pump and the burnt connector on the wire harness.

Below is the Fuel Pump and connector Part numbers I ordered from eBay including the URL. The wire connector I have in my 09 Santa Fe is a 5-Way 4 PIN so I will need to remove the 5th middle pin or put a wire nut on it as it is not needed. Same connector but it just comes with an extra wire. You can order just the connector too and crimp the wires on yourself. I just decided to go this route instead.

YouTube Link for changing the fuel pump / Fuel Level Sensors

I hope this helps as I could not find this issue posted anywhere online so I wanted to post this just in case anyone ran into a "Crank and intermittent no start / stalling condition" or "no start condition". It may be that it does not start at all but it is something that I would definitely recommend checking. This was pretty scary seeing this as my Wife drives this car with our kids.

I have not received the parts yet, they should be arriving by Saturday so I will follow up on the outcome once complete.

Default 2011 Hyundai Sonata fuel pump and connector

I just discovered the same issue on my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Getting ready to order the connector and replace the fuel pump. Was researching parts when I came across your post.
