A general question for y'all

Hi, this is a bit of an odd question but i wanted to know about when people get their hyundai's serviced. Does the mechanic when performing a general service as standard practice check the oil, water, fluid levels etc? Is that just something that is taken for granted as done? I am specifically wondering about checking the battery and it's fluid levels.

Thanks for any comments anyone can make on this!

[:-]This is something that is a standard pratice. The batteries in new cars are maintenance free.[sm=patriot.gif]

I would hope so. If one of those is not at the correct level it should be at that mileage depending on when it was last filled, that is going to tell you if your car is having trouble in some way, or if it may start having trouble too. Honestly you can check most of that stuff yourself if you research it a bit.

I have taught my sons and daughters the basic checks on a vehicle as I believe this should be part of a responsible owner. knowledge is power. Knowing these basic checks helps a person to know if your mechanic is doing what you paid him to do.
