Hello from Lost Wages Nevada

Recently bought a 2005 Santa Fe GLS/LX . I love the car but it needs a few things fixed...

Glad to have you here... So what seems to be the problem of your Santa fe?

The body is in good shape, I had to buy one of the left rear floor cargo cover (the rest are all there) and I had to buy the lower dash fuse cover panel, I need to buy the rear console ashtray since it is missing, and the transmission really bang shifts when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd so might need a rebuild or something. There is an oil leak from the valve covers. The A/C compressor has a short so need a new compressor and all the misc parts to get the A/C working. And much of the outside trim is faded, and the wiper arms are almost bare because of the paint chipping. So I need to either paint the trim or something to get it looking new again. And there are a couple of spots that need touch up paint.

I installed a trailer wiring harness in it and have the trailer hitch, just need it to get a little warmer so I can get under the car to bolt it on.

Here is a question... Is there a light for the temperature knob? The other knobs light up. Also at night, the temp gauge and gas gauge needles glow but you cannot see the dial so it is more of a guess as to what the needles are pointed at.

I talked to the garage guys I always take my cars to and they said a tune up, the A/C system repair and valve covers would be about $2K... I hate to pay that much but I did get a good deal on the car, I traded a 2000 Suzuki Vitara for it and got 500 bucks back...

I needed something that will pull my 1995 Jayco pop-up trailer when we go camping...

There should be a bulb behind that temperature knob from what I can tell by the diagrams. The bulbs in that assembly are part number 97322-33100 (Available here: BLUB made by Hyundai. #9732233100), it would likely be cheaper to buy it at your local dealer since you can avoid the shipping cost. If you would like any help finding the other parts you are looking for I would be happy to help out, just pm your VIN number.

Sometimes that's the case and sometimes it's not. I recently purchased a 2006 Kia Spectra (Hyundai Elantra twin) for my daughter and it had the same problem: the red and blue temp dial was not illuminating. I pulled the dash open and removed the dial assembly to find no bulbs. So I opened the assembly (all 3 dials) to find the lights were LED soldered to the circuit board. So I found the part number on the assembly case and looked on eBay for a replacement. Found one for under $20 and it works just fine. If you're worried about a used part, you could always order it new from the guy above.
