Hyundai Accent 2006 GLS 1.6L DOHC TIMING BELT QUESTION

My daughter's car timing belt slipped. After inspecting the belt it was missing teeth around the belt. After replacing the timing belt, I lined up timing marks, went to start the car with no luck. The car turns over, gets gas and and spark. My question is this: Is it possible to have the timing 180 degrees out? If so, how do I get the timing correct? Would this cause no compression? I did not have a compression gage to check compression. Placing my finger around the number 1 cylinder through the spark plug I felt no air pressure. Would this be the cause of my car not starting? Stumped and need help ASAP!!

If the timing belt slipped while running, the valves probably hit the pistons and bent. That's probably why you have no compression.
