Hi all, I'm totally new to the Hyundai world, and just got a job at Auburn Auto Center Hyundai in Washington. This is the link to the dealership.

I like how this forum is real similar to jeepforum layout wise, as I spend a lot of time there and drive a 97' grand cherokee.

Anyway my first days tomorrow, this is my first time ever working at a dealership. Anyone else on here in auto sales, or got any advice for me. I look forward to being able to contribute more as I learn more.

good luck, and be honest. Nothing worse than a salesman that tries to sound like he knows what he is talking about, but has no clue.

well after day one i definitely learned a lot, moved around a lot of models around the lot, got to know and identify the 10 different models. a lot of training and down time, and i still have to take the hyundai test to get certified before i can make any sales, just taking it a day at a time. to be honest these cars are gonna sell themselves, i just have to get the customers to like me.

Hi :
I mapped that dealership and looked around your city, if all those
plants and buildings are full of working people, you should be able to make yourself a good living selling these cars..like the other member said..be honest with the customers ..and they will buy from you..

It definitely is a working class area, the new 2011 sonata and 2010 tucsons are our most popular sellers. unfortunately we don't have as much of a high end market for the azera and genesis sedan or genesis coupe.

we also just created a facebook page that I'm helping run too http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000947177917

even if your not in washington please join and invite your friends, the more people on that stuff the better.
Thanks everyone,
Zach

Congratulations on a great first month in the business.. I've been in for about 4 years now, and you picked the right brand for being new to the business.. Hyundai has by far many of the best products out.

I am still trying to figure it out.. I'm told that I am likable, and am doing as I should. but have never had the numbers I needed. I hear too many successful salesmen tell people just what they want to hear; and I can't bring myself to do that, I feel I have lost several deals over the years by being honest and not pushy. It's just not in me to change.

From where you are.. FOLLOW UP with your customers to get referrals.

Good luck
