Mahout's last ride 2012 Sonata

Now that I'm old and way past retirement for the first time in more than a decade I went after a new car. Being an old manual shifter the 2012 Sonata with paddle shifters and reputed great mpg was my first choice with the best discounted price and best allowance for my trade-ins, yes, 2 Hondas. If Sebastion uses paddle shifting, then I can too. OK I know his are 100 times quicker shifting but my Sonata is quite adequate, unlike my Azera in 'Hyundai Sundae at VIR' on utube. It will me interesting to see if the Sonata can match the Azera around VIR. So far my only improvement is 225/50x17 tires on 8.5x17 wheels for better handling without changing the mpg which so far is high 20's in town and mid 30's on the interstate. Its not an aggressive accelerator like my BMW but is quite aequate especially when shifted as needed rather as programmed.
It has far more gadgetry than I'll ever use but what I do use is excellent; the Koreans have done an excellent job with the Sonata in this old auto engineer's opinion and the 60 and 100k warranty means I'll likely meet my maker before the warranty runs out.
PS the Sonata isnot my only car, I have several others.
