RE: neeeed help not new to hyundai but to accent!

I think it really depends on the condition of the Accent in question. Many of the basic electrical engine components are shared between an Accent and an Elantra. Bare in mind that an Accent is never going to ride as nice as an Elantra GT. You should worry more about:

How many miles?
Was service performed at specified intervals?
What is the condition of the timing belt? Was it changed recently?
How are the tires wearing?
When was the last transaxle fluid change?
Was fuel filter changed?
Who was driving this car?
Was it in a wreck and repaired?
Etc, etc...

ok well the gu says it has 200000 miles. lol. wow. that's alo I know. but maybe he meant 20000 miles? I just asked him about the tune ups etc and if he has proof that they were done. do accent enginess last a long time?

Well, 200,000 miles is a lot for any car. Not likely to be 20,000, as that would only be 2000 a year or so. 900$ sounds excessive, unless it's in really good condition, w/ all maintenece done, and runs perfectly.

[align=left]Like I said, sounds like a lot of money for the cheapest car made with 200,000 miles. Hard to say without actually looking at it. There's plenty of cars around for 900$. Gas is gonna be cheap for a while. Maybe you should shop around some more.

that's true. well I like how the accents look. kbb says about 860 for a fair condition one. I think im gonna pitch 600 dollars to this guy. lol. anyways. are you an accent owner?

No, I have a '99 Elantra. My car has a great motor, but the body is exceeding cheap and shoddy. I would get a new car if it had 200,000 miles.

No, if I were your Dad, I'd make you buy a Volvo 240. Accents are probably one of the most dangerous cars out there.
