Hi my fellow hyaundaiins, owner of a Accent for 2 month now.As a ahhh DYI i am at finishing stage of completing head gasket with refurbish cylinder head,i would like insight with problem alignment of camshaft sprocket at TDC,IT RETARDED by 3-5mm after i put back the timing belt and the timing chain tensioner. Should i go to crankshaft and rotate it 2-3 time to correct the alienment.

I would suggest going back to aligning the timing marks and reinstalling the new belt again maintaining the tension on the belt making sure the marks are in the proper position and then when done , rotate the crank 2 complete revolutions to confirm it lines up as required.

Good Evening Hanky i will retry realigning the belt to cam sprocket.Do i have remove cvvt tensioner for the chain because the intake and exhaust sprocket chain link is 7 link distance on their mark , but one thing i didnt do is tighten the belt tensioner ,i will try that first.

timing sprocket not alien with camshaft mark

Timing belt sprocket alignment issue,it is retard 2-5mm left of camshaft mark. Removing the belt and taking the tensioner off the timing chain and rotate clockwise the cam belt sprocket to alien up the mark would this correct my alignments.
