Default Newbie here with gas issue...

Hi guys, I just signed up for this website and made my 1st post in the “General Tech Help” . I think I might have posted that in a wrong area. My issue is with my 2017 Tucson Sport 4cyl, 1.6L turbo. Very happy with how she drives, and with the turbo, it is a very peppy car with plenty of pickup. My question is a gas issue. The gauge reads just above 1/4 tank, and the digital readout shows 66 DTE, which jives with where the gas needle is on the gauge. At the gas station I gave the guy $20 for gas. After ONLY 3 gallons the gas pump clicked off as it is supposed to do when the tank is full. I tried a few more times and the same thing kept happening. The guy at the station said to try a different pump, which I did, but same thing. And yes, the car was OFF. When you look into the tank, from where the gas nozzle goes, and shake the car a little, you can see the gas is at the very top....??...I only have 12,500 miles on her. Could the float in the tank and/or gauge be bad so soon...??....any help would be appreciated....hope u all are having a great weekend....Mark from NY...

Yes, the float could be bad or the sending unit or anything along the way
