Took delivery of an i30 Diesel Auto today. Where is the i30 forum ?

The car arrived with 1 remote key, and one normal key. I asked the dealer how much for an extra remote key and the answer was $A450 !!!!! They must be joking. Is there a cheaper alternative?

Hi Mhillman,

I picked up my I30 yesterday (I'm in Adelaide).

The saleman said that mine was the first one that had come with two "remote" keys. Apparently there is an issue that if you lose your remote and only have the key only option you can't open the car if it locked as it is alarmed.

He told me that they are providing a second remote to all people who were only given one under Warranty.

Would be worth contacting your dealer and tell them the issue.

You may have already sorted it out since you post was a while ago.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Looking for i30 forum as well. Bought new i30 diesel Nov 08. Car was made in Jan 08 and the dealer promises me their is only one remote key and one normal key. Do you have 2 remotes? Does the normal key set off the alarm?
