Gas Filter
Hopefully this is an easy question. On a 1994 Excel, where would the gas filter be located??
Thanks, Arnie |
RE: Gas Filter
If it is anything like my 95 it will be along the firewall by the master cylinder. It is a small aluminum canister attached to the fuel lines. If it isn't there I would look back by the tank and follow the fuel lines it should lead you to it.

No problem, let me know how it goes.

RE: Gas Filter
OK, I found it. But now the question, to remove it, do I just unscrew the top and bottom bolts that appears to hold the gas lines to the filter? It seems that's the only way to remove the lines, also, do you think alot of gas will flow out when I remove the top and bottom bolts-lines?
Thanks, Arnie |
RE: Gas Filter
Arnie,
Just two little helpful hints, when your reading to unscrew those bolts have a rag with ya just in case you do get some fuel leakage from the filter. Another good thing, disconnect the battery, if the fuel pump runs all the time, this will shut it off. However, if this is not the case, then don't worry about it. Good Luck!! Brant |
RE: Gas Filter
Arnie,
Those bolts are all that need to go, and it will come right out. Brant has some good tips for you so take heed, One more tip, if you disconnect the battery make sure the terminals are nowhere near where you are working in the event of a spark. Let us know how you made out, good luck. |
RE: Gas Filter
if that has a banjo fitting make sure to replace the o-rings
