Dumped the OEM tires for some Michelins

My 2011 Sonata Ltd came with Kumho OEM tires, I thought they're noisy and hard, and so do most owners.
.
Most recommendations, both here and at dealers, gave the Michelin MXV4 Primacy tires the highest ratings for noise and comfort. Even Costco highly recommended them.
They're certainly the most expensive tires out there.
.
So I traded in my almost-new OEM tires and got the Michelins.

I have to say that I don't notice that much difference. I am disappointed and kicking myself for spending $800 unnecessarily.
.
Anyone else had this experience?
.
Am I expecting too much from my Sonata in the way of ride comfort?

Michelins are way too expesive in my opinion and wear out quickly. Not worth it.

So how does one get best possible ride quality from a Sonata?

I've been pleased with the Yokohama AVID TRZ's on my Tucson. So much that I'm buying a set of Yokohama AVID Ascend tires for my wifes Kia Sedona minivan. I'd suggest going to places like TireRack.com and reading the surveys and reviews of different tires.

We just picked up a cherry 2012 Elantra Touring with 10,000 kms. It came with the Kumho OEM tires - reasonable on the highway, but we just had a blizzard and a foot of show. The tires are hopeless on snow - cant make it through 4" of standing snow. Argh. Any recommendations?

What wheels/tires? 15" or the 17"? The 17" wheels/tires are considered all-season but not really good in the snow. I'd suggest purchasing a set of winter tires and wheels from a place like TireRack.com
