Hi. with the gas prices rising high these days I just recently purchased a used 2000 hyundai accent GL 1.5L with 126,000 miles. This is my first hyundai car and would like to know if I can use any other type of AT transmission fluid besides the SP-III you get from the dealer or with other brands with SP-III on it. I would like to use some thing that is fully synthetic.

Last question, where is the transmission filter located on these cars?

I have the same car but with a 5 speed so I don't know about the fluid. I would suggest making sure the timing belt has been changed though. It's not too difficult and can save your engine. Needs to be done every 60000 miles. I have 182000 on mine.
