Default radio - no power

hey everyone,

i'm a newbie here, looking for an answer to my problem. i have an '01 tib, and just recently bought a pioneer deh 2000mp stereo to replace the stock stereo. removed the stock fine, and no problems with fitting in the pioneer, either. the problem is, there is no power to either one (i have the stock back in the car). there was power to the radio right up until my brother in law starting working on switching out the radios. since he worked on it alone, i'm not sure if he accidentally cut a wire or anything. the fuses are fine..i even went out and bought brand new ones thinking the fuses were spent. i am at a loss right now...does anyone have an idea what/where else i can check?
has anyone else expereiced this?

thanks so much in advance.

Jace

Did you use one of those aftermarket harnesses to make it nearly plug in play or did you cut off the stock connector and crimped the wires? Make sure you alos check the correct fuses because that would be the most common problem with replacing a headunit with the battery connected.

it must be a loose wiring (connector and wire), wrong fuse connection or low battery. better to check those first and it's better to connect the wires in their proper places...
