2011 Hyundai Sonata SE Check Engine Light
I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE with the 2.4 liter engine and 58K miles on the odometer. My check engine light keeps going on and then after 2-3 days it turns off and then goes back on after a few days. When I scanned the computer, it threw an error code P0036. A P0036 code means there's a fault in the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater Control Circuit for Bank 1 Sensor 2, which is the downstream sensor after the catalytic converter. What is weird is that the check engine light does not stay on. In the past, when I needed to replace my Oxygen Sensor, with other cars that I owned, the check engine light stayed on until I cleared the code. Also, when I have had issues with Oxygen Sensors, I always noticed the car was sluggish when I accelerated. I have no performance issues with the Hyundai. I believe the part number is 39210-2G550 for the downstream Sensor 2. Somebody told me that Hyundai’s are noted for having electrical issues and the check engine light will come on and you may get codes for issues that you do not have.
I am also getting a Hyundai error code B1102 which signifies Battery Voltage Too Low even though my battery is 1 year old & I tested the battery & it is perfect.
I have an original PCV. Somebody told me to replace it even if it is still good. They said that it might be causing issues. I removed it and the ball moves freely and I can blow air in it.
