My parents just retired and are on a fixed income. They have a 2014 equus with 87,000 miles. The car started bouncing and got real low in the front end as well as an error messege on dash. To make a long story short the dealer wants 7000 dollars to fix it! I read the report. It said the left front strut is leaking and the compressor "may be weak" from running all the time.
I am a hobby mechanic and am in the process of restoring a 68 mustang. My question is, is this something I could do myself, namely replaceing one or both front struts? The one thing I dont have is a dealer computer. I was not sure if this was needed to activate or de activate anything while making the repair....
