Default 2016 Santa Fe Sport 2.4L lacking power

My 2016 Santa Fe Sport 2.4L started to lose power at higher rpm’s. It will knock over 5200 rpm. Climbing hills is rough and I lose speed. Here in east Tennessee we have a lot of large hills to climb. I can do 90+ on flat land given some time, but when it’s time to climb, it’s no there. I am getting no warning lights or codes. I don’t have a funky smell like a catalytic converter. I am thinking probably fuel pump. It has 143k miles. Thoughts? HELP!!!

One way to handle this would be to have a service location connect a scan tool to the vehicle and run a test on climbing a hill.
The tool will display the fuel pressure, desired and actual and that should provide a picture of fuel pump performance .A simple test and no mechanical connections required.
At the same time it will record other data that might help point to another problem , if one exists..

It could be low compression, does it use much oil?

It does not use any oil at all.

Usually low compression, and power go with burning oil, so I would guess your compression is good. It could be intake valve deposits, if there are no codes when checked with a scan tool. The scan tool will also show fuel trim, and oxygen sensor performance. How is your gas mileage?

The gas milage is 5 mpg worse than where it was, and that is because I am babying it. It could be worse if I was driving normal.

I replaced the GDI pump to no avail. I still think that is is fuel starvation. It clatters when youreach high RPM's. It also loses speed at hisher rpm's. Maybe it is the fuel pump in the gas tank? That is the next logical choice for me.
