Default alarm

I have just aquired a 1997 tiburon. Today, while my wife was driving the car stalled. I was able to start with jumper cables, but car died again after about 2 blocks. This time the battery cables did nothing, not even a click. The alarm is now set and I cannot get it deactivated. THe user manual says to unlock driver or passenger doors with key to deavtivate, but that doesnot work. The remote has never worked. Having a working alarm is not on my priority list.
I had the battery checked and it is bad. I can speculate that a good battery will fix all the problems including allowing me to deactivate the alarm with the door key. However if it doesnot and for the future I would like to know how to deactivate the alarm even permenantly if necessary.
Can you help???
Thanks,
ROn

New battery should do the trick, however if it does not, try pulling the fuse. It will tell you which one it is in the manual.

Best of luck,

Chris.
