Default CABIN ATC CALIBRATION

I HAVE A 2001 XG300 THAT WHEN THE TEMP IS SET FOR 72 IN THE WINTER YOU HAVE TO SET IT 10 DEGREES HIGHER TO KEEP COMFORTABLE, IS THERE ANY WAY TO CALIBRATE THIS. THE DEALER UNDER WARRANTY REPLACED THAT PART OF THE CONSOLE BECAUSE THE LIGHTS WERE OUT A WHILE BACK AND IT HASN'T WORKED RIGHT SINCE.

Hyundai has issued two technical service bulletins related to this problem.

TSB #02-97-001 describes a problem with the cabin temperature sensor not functioning correctly when the aspirator tube normally connected to the back of the control panel is kinked or not connected. I suspect the tube was not reconnected or was kinked when the panel was replaced under warranty.

TSB #03-97-001 describe an upgrade to the thermistor sensor that is involved with cabin temperature control. I would ask if this upgrade was installed when the control panel was replaced under warranty, and if not, why.

Thank you very, very much, that is EXACTLY what the problem was, the dealer never connected the suction hose to the new ATC panel. Another short question: the miliage computer at the top of the console, some of the numbers don't light up any more, is there any way to replace the bulbs or is this an internal LED that needs an entire unit replacement?

I thought that might be the case. Glad you have it fixed.

If you can see some numbers or parts of the digits, then it isn't a bulb issue but the LEDs. I have heard of guys good with micro-electronics soldering in new displays, but I have never tried that. I simply don't have those skills. I don't think there is any way for the average person to repair the LEDs other than replace the head unit.

I HAVE A NEW PROBLEM, SAME CAR 2001 XG300, WHILE DRIVING IT THIS WEEKEND I WAS IN A BEACH TOWN DRIVING BETWEEN TRAFFIC LIGHTS APPROX 40 MPH, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR JOLTED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WAS STUCK IN 3RD GEAR, I TRIED TO GET IT TO CHANGE TO 4TH MANUALLY BUT ALL IT WOULD DO IS MANUALLY SHIFT BETWEEN 3RD AND 2ND AND ONLY IF I USED THE SPORT SHIFT MODE. IF I STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IT WOULD START OUT IN 3RD AND STAY THERE. I FINALLY DROVE BACK TO THE HOTEL AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED NORMALLY BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS, ONE THING I HAVENOTICED IS THAT WHEN THE CAR SHIFTS FROM I THINK 3RD TO 4TH IT KIND OF SHUDDERS, ITALWAYS DID BUT IT SEEMS WORSE NOW WITH AGE. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
