Cruise control switch replacement
Hey folks im new here and I hope someone can help me. My wife has a 2018 Hyundai Accent and the cruise control switch on the right front of the steering wheel broke. I have a replacement steering wheel with the switch in it. I've been trying to remove the steering wheel in her car and its been a serious task. I have the bolts removed behind the steering wheel and the air bag isn't budging. I put a screw driver in the little slots thinking that would release the air bag but that didn't do anything. The switch itself won't pop off. Im a pretty good mechanic but this has me stumped. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure what the deal is with this car but it has a Mexico made engine in it. Tbe regular air filter wasn't right so I did some research and I guess thats why it didn't fit. Thanks again for the help.
You didn't mention if you disconnected the battery cable(s). You could get quite a surprise if you did not.
You will need a steering wheel puller and another tool if it has a tilt steering wheel.
Not something you should be messing around with unless you know exactly what to do.AND not do !
