Default diesel probs

Hi I drive a 2002 GSi TD with an auto box just recently it has started vibrating badly while at idle like a fork lift truck ,no sign of black smoke but cigarrette colour at start up it runs perfect accelerating ok and starting is ok looking at the engine its jumping around like a good un ,I have changed all the filters and put cleaner in the fuel with no change .this week I got a recall notice from the dealer for TSB 2543 Fuel separator ,got any ideas what this is and what it may do or could it have something to do with my prob ,please

It has only got 31,000 miles on it

Will I damage the injectors by spraying injector cleaner straight down the fuel lines?

the most common cause i have found for this sort of fault is a sticking injector, unfortunately the bosch injectors seem to be prone to this, as for the fuel seporator .i think its just a check on the fuel filter housing but i cant remember to be honest. but i do know there is a recall campaign in the uk for the fuel pipe from the pump to the fuel rail to be checked and replaced. oh and i dont recommend spraying cleaner down the pipes ,stick some in the tank if you have to.

Thanks for your answer it explains a lot , now can I service the Injector I think I know which one it is I took of the electric conection until it showed no difference in the running , is there an on line manual that shows how to get the injector out ,or will i be wasting my time and should I just buy new ones ,will fitting be a problem ?

servicing these injectors is not posible. so i would just change it, as for taking it out unless you are mechanically minded its a bit tricky.first take off the spill pipes off all the injector tops. then you have to remove the pipe to the injector (14mm) slowly undo as its high pressure, push down and twist the tab by that injector and lift it out .this will reveal a clamp holding the injector in place undo the allen bolt but dont remove it, now lift up the bolt and move the clamp backwards so it clears the injector. (IF THE CLAMP DROPS DOWN INTO THE ROCKER COVER YOU HAVE TO REMOVE ALL THE INJECTORS AND COVER TO GET IT BACK. BE WARNED.) now twist the injector and pull it out. and thats it. fitting is the opposite. torque the injector pipes to 2.7kg/m
