Does the tire pressure monitoring system work with 3rd-party rims & tires?
2013 Elentra GLS. I need new tires, and I also want to replace the stock rims with something "nicer." Will I encounter any TPMS compatibility issues with non-Hyundai rims?
While I have you, can anyone tell me why Hyndai's 17" and 18" rims cost > $300, while many 3rd-party rims are in the low $100's?
Thanks,
David Habermehl

I saw a video on YouTube where a guy used tape to "pressurize" those stupid sensors, then threw the darned things in the glove box!!! I want to do this with my Chevy pickup, but planned on using either ti wraps or hose clamps to do the job. Either way they will be outside the tire and readily accessible if they ever go "bad"!!!
Another guy said he puts his in his spare tire!!! Personally I'd like to shove mine up a certain body cavity of the idiot who came up with this stupid idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
