Door Catcher No One's Heard Of
I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra. All four door catchers have rusted through and are now broken in half and subsequently were crushed and bent after the first time I closed the door on their broken remains. Today I called two big junk yards and asked them if they sold door catchers and in both phone calls neither business had any idea what a door catcher was. So that got me wondering if perhaps they might have a different name.
The red arrow in my photo is pointing to my broken 'door catcher' it is the device that prevents the door from opening too far and once open, adds a little resistance to keep the door from shutting by itself each time a gentle breeze blows. With these door catchers broken, all four of my doors close on me and my passengers when the car is on an incline while parked in my driveway.
So I want to replace all four. I was wondering if they have another name and where I can get them.
