Elantra stalk switch access?
Almost embarrassed to ask this BUT:
I have a 2001 Elantra with what seems to be a failing stalk switch that's causing nearly all lights but headlamps to become intermittently inoperative. Problem was very occasional initially; so much so that it was very hard to identify. Lately it's be malfunctioning frequently enough and repeatably enough that I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to replace it-- when it acts up, usually a little wiggle will bring back the lights. In any event, (the embarrassing part) I can't seem to figure out how to get into/past the steering column covers to troubleshoot/remove/repair/replace the switch. Any body able to shed some light on what I need to disassemble to get in there? I'm hoping this isn't going to go like the brake rotor I had to chop up with a sawzall and chisel off the hub flange!
Any/all help appreciated -- Please be kind. (Do I need to check my sawzall blade supply?)
