Head Gasket Sealant? 2010 Accent
Hello, I have a 2010 Accent and replacing head after timing belt break, I am using a Felpro gasket. I see Hyundai say use a sealant. Is this applied between cylinder walls and around every cavity or where?
Thanks for the help, Anyone use anything except the Loctite, Hyundai or Threebond?

I haven't heard of using sealant on a head gasket, but the only place you might use it is around oil and coolant passages, and very sparingly, you don't want sealant getting in the passages.
The sealing rings for the piston areas get too hot for sealant, and any in the combustion areas would burn, and contaminate oxygen sensors and catalytic converters.

I too never heard of using any type of sealant on head gasket ,it metal type gasket, that bolted down with yield to torque and 90 degree turn at the end.I did mine on a 2008 accent in April .If you have access to MITCHELL online auto Manuel or any type of automotive manual, beside Hyundai .AUTOZONE free online automotive maneul was a big help for me!
