hey folks i have a hyundai accent coupe i 1998 s reg (sorry if it isnt spelt right) and i'm stuck, i'm trying to fit a new streo to the bloody thing but there most b some sort of catch and i can't seem to remove the small dash (the one that has the cd player and clock and air con etc). does anyone here knew what i need to do to stop me spending tons of money to get it fitted as i have someone willing to help me fit it....................... please if anyone does knew what i need to do i would b sooooo happi........ I dont know for sure about the 1998, but I have a 2001 Accent and ran into the same kind of thing trying to put a new stereo into it. It turns out that there are two wire-like stays coming off of it that extend out and connect on either side behind the dash. Take out the glove compartment and you will see the stay from the stereo console. Unclip it, and the one on the driver side, and you should be able to get it out. The Accentrs are a complete pain in the a$$ for taking apart the dash. Good luck.
