Hi All,

I'm needing some help or any advice would be great as i cannot find anything about this!

My Hyundai i40 2011 wagon is doing something odd and i'm worried the engine is about to let go.

Its blowing white/bluish smoke (not sure which one) , this has only happened 3 times.

So when i'm just crusing along then wanting to over take someone , put the foot down to over take and RPM'S go up and then i look behind me and there is a cloud of smoke white or blue not sure. then all fine again.

Please note- it dosnt do this all the time while driving or on start up, this only happens every once in a while.

anyone had the same issue ? Really worried the engine is going to let go .

 

Please check oil level. It may be burning oil.
If it is low then fill back to proper level
After, keep an eye on oil level

The only way I know how to check the condition of the engine is to do a compression and leak down test
