I20 cigarette lighter socket
Hi
i have an 1.2 I20 comfort 2011. Extremely pleased with the car, has cost me very little in maintenance and performed very well.
I use the cigarette lighter socket for my SatNav, but yesterday, when I pulled the plug out, the holder came out also. Is it likely that a plastic retaining lug has broken off maybe ? It looks simple to replace, would I be best with an OEM replacement, or are these standard ?
thank you
found this on Halfords website, they tell me it’s compatible

Where ever this power point is located, if in the dash, it will need to be opened up and a new socket assy installed.
They are pretty much the same, a circular tube type nut holds them to the surface. If you purchase one , you will see it is not that difficult to replace.
The difficult part is getting to it.

The one I found on Halfords website, appears to simply push in from the front, I assume it then latches onto the fascia, it’s already loose, so if the wires were stopped, couldn’t the new one just be inserted from the front.
halfords want £5 to fit it, unless they plan to take the dash apart, which I doubt for £5.
Amazon have one similar, needs a 22mm aperture, no idea of the aperture size in my i20, could try measuring tomorrow…depends how much difference there is for other males.

I notice you are from an overseas country and this presents some differences. Vehicles shipped to different countries many times have different requirements.
I thought it was a little unusual for the symbol you showed because my keyboard doesn't have that symbol. Nice to see other designations, cool maybe just me.
It seems from what you describe it just pushes in and locks, most I have seen here have the circular threaded tube nut to hold them in place.
